Different Strokes - A Training Tool for Reducing Health Inequalities for LGB People
Different Strokes is a new resource for facilitiating awareness raising training sessions around Lesbain, Gay and Bisexual (LGB) people's health needs and the health inequalities experienced by LGB people.
The training is aimed at staff involved in the planning or delivery of health and social care services, including clinicians, professionals, managers, clerical staff, commissioners and policy officers.
Different Strokes was produced by Shout!, a gay and bisexual men's health advice and support service in Sheffield, in partnership with the Centre for HIV & Sexual Health, NHS Sheffield and the Department of Health, as part of the national Pacesetters programme, aimed at reducing health inequalities across populations.
A comprehensive training package, Different Strokes includes all resources and material needed to deliver training sessions. The package is designed to enable tailor-made training sessions to suit a range of different audiences, and activities are divided into sections to support facilitators when planning sessions. There are also suggested training plans included for sessions ranging from 30 mins to full day in length. The full package includes:
